Rosh Hashanah and
Yom Kippur

Not going home for the High Holy Days? Hofstra Hillel proudly offers options for students.

Services are specifically geared towards a student population; however, everyone is invited. We aim to create an environment which is open, nonjudgmental, and inclusive. Students take leadership roles in running the services.  No public solicitations or appeals are made at services.

Rosh Hashanah
Hofstra Hillel provides students with FREE tickets to local synagogues.  In addition, Hofstra Hillel can arrange holiday meals with local families.  Email hillel@hofstra.edu or call 516.463.6922.

Visit the Yom Kippur FAQ page for more information.

There are three services on campus for Yom Kippur:

Alternative Service
This will be a interactive discussion about Yom Kippur.

Conservative Service
Conservative services will be led by Sarah Gershuny this year and are conducted in Hebrew with English readings.  Explanations and guidance are provided.  All services take place in the Mack Student Center.

Reform Service
Reform services will be led by Alana Alpert.  The services are held in Hebrew and English.  All services take place in the Mack Student Center.

If you prefer to attend an Orthodox service, please contact Chabad.
