Hofstra Hillel is grateful to alumni, parents, community members and students that serve on its Board of Directors. If you are interested in learning more about the Board of Directors you can contact Rabbi Dave Siegel or Bruce Lev.
Bruce has served on the Board for the past ten years and recently assumed the posistion of Chairman. As a college student Bruce was actively involved in helping raise money for UJA and travelled to Israel. Bruce cares deeply about Hofstra Hillel and hopes to inspire his peers to become involved in Jewish life on campus today.
Bruce Kafenbaum served as co-chair of Hofstra Hillel's Board of Directors for eight years. Under his leadership, Hofstra Hillel grew exponentially: the Board of Directors doubled in size, Hillel's endowment increased dramatically and the lives of thousands of students were touched.
Bruce has been actively involved in Jewish life on Long Island as a member of the Executive Board of Temple Beth El of Great Neck. He is also involved with UJA Federation of NY. Bruce is a Wexner Heritage Program graduate a prestigious program designed to educate volunteer leaders in the history, thought, traditions and contemporary challenges of the Jewish people.
Professionally, Bruce is the owner and operator of Multifamily, Office and Shopping Center, and Car Wash facilities in the New York Metro area since 1979. In addition Bruce is currently on the Executive Board of Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP); a NYC property owner's organization which advocates, lobbies, and protects property owners' rights in New York State. In the past Bruce has served in many capacities from Legal Chair to Vice President of this organization.
Richard Sirlin served as co-chair of Hofstra Hillel’s Board of Directors for eight years. Under his leadership, Hofstra Hillel grew exponentially: the Board of Directors doubled in size, Hillel’s endowment increased dramatically and the lives of thousands of students were touched.
From a deep sense of responsibility to ensure that Jewish students “in his backyard” have a vibrant Jewish campus community, Richard has devoted boundless time and energy to achieving this goal.
Richard is the President of Lakeville Industries. Lakeville Industries offers the finest and most extensive selection of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry available anywhere. Lakeville Industries serves the building and remodeling industry in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
